Urban Uprising Spring Climbing Challenge is a friendly, month-long charity challenge where climbers across the UK take on a designated Urban Uprising wall climb, log their ascents, and help raise vital funds to support young people through climbing.
Every time you complete the challenge climb, you’re not just pushing your limits — you’re backing Urban Uprising’s youth programmes, which use climbing to build confidence, resilience and community.
You can climb as many times as you like — every ascent counts. Your entry includes spot prizes for individual climbers during the challenge and automatic entry into the end-of-challenge raffle
At Urban Uprising, we give disadvantaged young people the opportunity to transform their futures.
Our unique climbing programme gives 8-18-year-olds who face various challenges in life the chance to develop their physical, social and personal strengths with the support and encouragement of highly-trained positive coaches.
We know there are barriers – both individual and societal – that prevent some young people from accessing and consistently engaging with new experiences. Urban Uprising’s vision is a society where all young people feel engaged and empowered to create a positive future for themselves.
In partnership with climbing centres and committed volunteer role models, we are here to support young people to address and overcome the individual root causes of the problem and become their own agents of change.
After you donate, you’ll be redirected to Griptonite to log your climb. Griptonite is a climbing tracking app and community that lets you record your ascents, see your progress over time, and even compare your climbs with others — a bit like a climbing-specific logbook.
Whether you already use GripTonite all the time (great!) or this is your first time, logging your climb is quick and easy. GripTonite makes it fun to keep a record of what you’ve climbed, and it’s a familiar tool for many climbers — but it’s also simple enough for anyone to use when they take part in this challenge.
